Are you soaking in the brilliance of summer—the blooming gardens, the shimmering heat, the way everything seems just a little more alive as we near the Summer Solstice?
This is Midsummer, a potent moment in the year. A time when nature vibrates at her fullest, and yet, quietly, we begin a shift. While the sun shines its brightest, there’s also a subtle turning—an invitation inward. And with that turning, many of us begin to feel… things. Uncertainty. Stirring. Crossroads energy. If that’s where you are right now, you’re not alone.
Honoring the Cycles
After pouring myself fully into creating my program that helps women lower stress holistically through tools like plant medicine, I found myself deeply in need of rest. You might know the feeling- when inspiration pours through and you’re all in- until every last piece lands in place. But as with everything in nature, what expands must eventually contract.
Our bodies, our minds, and our spirits crave rhythm. Pause. Recalibration.
The world mirrors this. Plants grow and bloom before they recede. The moon swells and empties. The seasons rotate from seed to sleep. Even the stock market, in all its logic and chaos, moves in waves.
But somehow, we’ve been taught to override our own cycles. To keep going, growing, performing, even when every cell inside us whispers: “slow down.”
Midsummer: The Turning Point of Light
The Summer Solstice- or Midsummer, it’s often called- is the longest day of the year. It’s a celebration of light, yes, but also a sacred threshold. From this point on, the days grow shorter. The light wanes, little by little, drawing us slowly inward toward autumn, then winter.
It’s bittersweet, isn’t it? There’s something about the turning that feels tender. We’ve waited for summer’s warmth and ease, and now it begins to slip. The beach days, the iced teas, the barefoot garden wanders—they’re still here, but they’re no longer growing. They’re beginning to retreat.
But here’s the secret: this cycle holds magic. When we honor the turn, rather than resist it, we reconnect to something ancient and wise. The more we notice the natural world’s rhythms, the more empowered we feel in our own.
And even as we begin to sense the shift, we still have time. Time to celebrate. To soak in light. To play. And also, to listen—because this time of year can stir up questions we didn’t even know we were carrying.
Are You at a Crossroads?
Midsummer is a threshold. Maybe you’ve noticed it- those quiet questions showing up in the in-between moments. Am I where I want to be? What’s next? Why does something feel… off?

You might not have the answers yet. That’s okay.
Crossroads don’t come with instruction manuals. They come with tension. With a feeling like you’re walking through a meadow of wildflowers, but don’t know which path to take next. The beauty is all around you- and yet, something inside says it’s time to choose.
And that can feel… unsettling.
We like to know what’s ahead. We crave clarity. And when it doesn’t come, fear creeps in. But often, that fear is just our mind reacting to the unknown. When we were kids, we feared the dark until someone came in and turned on the light, revealing nothing scary at all.
It’s the same now.
When clarity is missing, don’t panic. Reach for the light. Literally and metaphorically. And trust that it’s already working on your behalf, even if you can’t see it yet.
But first, let’s start with this simple ritual…
Midsummer Lighting Your Path Ritual
Fireflies

Here in my corner of the world, the fireflies have arrived. At dusk, they shimmer through the trees like floating sparks of stardust. I swear, some nights it feels like I’m standing inside a fairytale.
If fireflies don’t visit where you live, don’t worry. You can bring your own light. A candle. A lantern. The glow of your own intention.
Because what matters isn’t the source of the light- it’s the invitation it carries: to illuminate what feels unclear.
The Ritual
🌙 When to do it: On Midsummer night, or anytime a few days before or after.
- Step outside at night. Find a quiet spot where you can be still, even for just a few minutes.
- If fireflies visit your region, see if they’re dancing. If not, bring your own light. A candle or flame is perfect.
- Breathe. Let the stillness settle into your bones.
- Imagine the light from the fireflies or flame drifting toward you- tiny glimmers of clarity weaving into your chest, your mind, your soul. Let their glow (or the light of the candle) gently stir something within you. If it’s easier, you can see in your mind some of their light drift its way inside you like the trail of a slow moving shooting star.
- Silently (or aloud), ask:
“What needs light in my life right now?”
“What am I ready to see more clearly?”
Ask for some light to be shined on your challenge so you can see a lit pathway for the direction you need to take. - Trust what comes. It may be a thought, a memory, a sudden wave of feeling. Or nothing at all in the moment.
Clarity often doesn’t arrive as a lightning bolt. It sneaks in. Through dreams. In conversations. On the back of a truck with a message you didn’t know you needed. The light always finds a way.
- When you’re ready, offer a word of thanks. To the fireflies. To the flame. To the unseen magic working on your behalf.
Because when we give gratitude, we create a beautiful echo in the universe, and the energy we honor returns to us in unexpected ways.
Let this ritual be a beginning. A spark. A conversation with your soul.
You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to show up, light in hand, and say: “I’m ready.” 💜
